It is unique in the high-availability space, monitoring and reacting to external and internal threats, autonomously.
The new M3 platform has been designed to be fully manageable from the command line, making administration over low-speed, high latency network connections feasible. The new Striker UI communicates with the back-end via a simple jobs system.

Beyond the usual hardware monitoring and recovery, the Anvil! fully handles power loss events and thermal excursions. It will perform automatic load shedding to conserve battery power or reduce thermal loading. If necessary, it will gracefully perform full shut downs before critical conditions occur.
M3 is a complete rewrite over our previous M2 release. Some of the big changes;
* Built on Pacemaker, Kronosnet/Corosync, and DRBD 9
* Supports [[EL9]] (and [[EL8]]).
* [[DLM]] is no longer used, with a new shared file system
* [[LVM]] Under DRBD enables (Virtual) Server Snapshotting
* Integrated Asymmetrical DR support, Short or Long Throw

Most impressively, it recovers on its own.
Version 3.0 will be the first with most control options in the new, reactive WebUI.

When the power is back and UPSes are at a safe charge, or when thermal conditions return to nominal levels, the Anvil! restarts, reforms the cluster and boots your servers. All without human intervention!

The Anvil! platform is more than just software; It is a full and open design philosophy, ensuring full redundancy at all levels. Full power redundancy, full network redundancy, full management redundancy and, of course, full computer redundancy.

The design philosophy of the Anvil! is that absolutely any component in the system must be able to be removed and replaced without a maintenance window.

The Anvil! M3 platform is, we dare say, the most comprehensive and autonomous availability platform available anywhere.

 AN!Wiki :: How To :: Beta Testing

After years of development of the "Anvil! M3" Intelligent Availability® platform, and we're ready for beta-testers!

The new M3 platform has been designed to be fully manageable from the command line, making administration over low-speed, high latency network connections feasible. The new Striker UI communicates with the back-end via a simple jobs system.

M3 is a complete rewrite over our previous M2 release. Some of the big changes;

  • Built on Pacemaker, Kronosnet/Corosync, and DRBD 9
  • Supports EL9 (and EL8).
  • DLM is no longer used, with a new shared file system
  • LVM Under DRBD enables (Virtual) Server Snapshotting
  • Integrated Asymmetrical DR support, Short or Long Throw

Version 3.0 will be the first with most control options in the new, reactive WebUI.

With our third version close to release, we re looking for testers to help us make this best of class software even better! If you are interested in helping us beta test, we will provide you with help preparing your platform, and providing free support during your testing. No string attached, of course.

Any questions, feedback, advice, complaints or meanderings are welcome.
