Fedora Core is a community driven, [[Red Hat]]-guided Linux distribution.
Debian is a server-class [[Linux]] distribution (in)famous for not allowing a program into it's "stable" branch until after it has been extensively tested and proven. The result is an [[OS|operating system]] generally composing of software a revision or more older than what is currently available. The result, however, is a very stable and secure operating system. The name is a compound of the founder's first name, Ian Murdock, and his then-girlfriend's name, Debra Lynn.
