 AN!Wiki :: PID

PID is an acronym for Process IDentification (Process ID). This is a number assigned to a running process on a computer system. Under Unix-like operating systems using the proc virtual filesystem like Linux, details about the process can be checked by examining the files under /proc/#, where # is the ID number.
