 AN!Wiki :: Man

In Linux (and other POSIX operating systems), man pages are generally comprehensive manuals describing the purpose and use of a given shell command, configuration file and so on. The normal way to access a man page is to enter, as a shell command, man prog, where prog is the name of the program you wish to read about.
