In clustering, one can configure LVM to run as a clustered logical volume manager called clvm. To convert a normal LVM into a clustered LVM, you need to tell LVM to use clustered locking and then start the clvmd daemon. In RHCS, clustered locking is provided by the distributed lock manager called DLM.

Please note, at the time of this writing, May 2011, LVM snapshots are not supported by CLVM.
